Oatley is an
electoral district of the
Legislative Assembly in the
Australian state of
New South Wales, currently held by the former member for
Georges River,
Kevin Greene.
Oatley is named after and including the
Sydney suburb of
Oatley. The 2004 redistribution of electoral districts estimated that the electoral district would have 49,240 electors on 29 April 2007.
History
Oatley was first created in 1927, with the break up of the multi-member
St George. In 1930, it was abolished and largely replaced by
Kogarah. It was recreated for the
2007 election largely replacing the abolished district of
Georges River.
Oatley is a suburb which was founder James Oatley in the late 1700's and he'd many children which the streets are now named after i.e Letitia street, Rosa street, Fredrick street and Anette street there are many more.
Oatley has long been divided into 2 sides Oatley and Oatley west because of the federal district areas. Oatley (east) is run by a different federal member than the other. Most parts of Oatley west are in Barton the Eastern member.

It has many pre schools and is home to oatley campus a senior campus.
Oatley is home to oatley Park a park renown for pleasure, Moore reserve with a beautiful pond, the memorial park, Oatley gardens, Oatley pleasure grounds,Chales street reserve and more!
Every October OAtley lions festival is held and offers a wonderful day with many sites and attractions including the pie eating contest held out the front of oatley ovens and the giant raffle wheel.
Oatley also hold music in the park and other events.
All in all oatley is a great town with a great history and you should take some time to have a look.
